Responsibilities

Mission Linen Supply is seeking a Painter/Maintenance Helper.  The Painter/Maintenance Helper is responsible for painting, maintaining surfaces throughout the facility and assisting the Maintenance Technician team.

 

The Painter/Maintenance Helper pay is $19.00 - $21.00 an hour. The starting pay is based on education, experience, other qualifications, and location of assignment.

Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Applies preparatory materials, paints, and stains to surfaces of walls, ceilings, equipment, etc.
  • Working conditions include restricted movement; air contamination, dirty environment, possible hazardous materials, lifting or carrying heavy objects.
  • Washes, scrapes, sands, torches, and/or smoothes interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials.
  • Cleans equipment, paint mixing area, and work area.
  • Operates compressors, striping machines, sandblasters, spray equipment, and other small power equipment.
  • Maintains existing paint surfaces through matching and tinting of appropriate paint products.
  • Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade.
  • Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.
  • Skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.
  • Completion of a three year technical training program in painting (or related experience) and three years of painting experience
